Our current project is a pursuit to purchase a piece of prime land for building dormitories for the street kids, orphans and vulnerable children(OVCs) Our prospective purchase is a piece of prime land measuring 100*100, situated in a serene environment for better growth, development and health adjustments The prospective project is budgeted under the following estimates of Kshs.7Million which is an equivalent of Us$ 67,962 This is a project that started recently to rehabilitate the street kids. It has come to our attention that some of these children have a lot of talents and only needs our support in nurturing them and to make them realize their talents, purpose and true-self thus making their dreams come true. These endeavours can only be realized and accurately achieved by being there for these kids through mentorship programs and guiding them to responsible living. Accepting them and integrating them back into society is the key to changing their view of life and embracing rightful living. The first step towards achieving these goals is by feeding them, clothing them and accepting them as our own…..while at the same time advising and guiding them towards the right way of living. Such involvements include engaging these kids in sporting activities, camping and hiking. Imagine being far away from drugs and all sorts of vice street life and surrounding them with positive vibes!! This is, however, a bit temporal and at the end of the day, these kids tend to go back to their daily vice routines, i.e. drugs abuse, theft, endangering themselves and others…and in the long run wasting their valuable lives. To prevent this occurrence, we have resulted in a more permanent solution. We have come up with a plan to build a youth centre (note the use of the Youth Center instead of Children Home) to rehabilitate these kids permanently. In such a setup, kids can be able to go back to school, have a nice place to sleep and a place to call home. A youth centre will act like a university set up where one needs to qualify into and graduate out of…( that is to adult life) and relinquishing his or her place to another needy or street kid
